My favorite sugar free food dishes!

Leave a comment Standard

These dishes became a house hold favorite, when my grandpa got diagnosed with diabetes, we had to learn to change our eating habits and eat better for his health.

Brownies.

This brownie mix is amazing instead of sugar it’s substituted with Splenda and it Taste great you, can get this at any local grocery store and it’s not too pricey either.

Jell-O.

This is also a favorite of mine, it’s less the calories and sugar plus it Taste great so, you get to eat a snack without freaking out over all the sugar intake.

Popcorn.

Popcorn is another favorite snack, Because it has no sugar and you can pretty much eat as much as you want. I also buy the 94% fat free popcorn with only 100 calories. It doesn’t have as much butter and it’s healthier for you. They come in mini bags or big bags I would say go for the Mini bags if you just looking for a simple snack.

Almonds.

My mom will only by this brand of almonds nothing else because it’s less sugar and healthier for you. I never use to like almonds but my mom got me hooked on them now and my nutritionist also had it on my meal plan so it became a household snack.

Gatorade.

This is my all time favorite sugar free drinks most people think it’s nasty it’s not at all, in fact it’s healthier for your body then all that sugar in regular Gatorade. I even have my dad hooked on it, every time I go to the store he asks me to buy more. This is a great substitute for anyone who is diabetic as well.

sugar free ice cream.

No matter what you can always choose health even when it comes to your ice cream. My grandpa used to eat this kind all the time and it Taste great. You can still eat sweets now and then just choose healthy options and this is a great one.

Veggie straws.

Honestly, when I first saw this in the store, I was like no way am I eating that nope not me. My aunt use to buy this for my grandpa so, one day I was shopping and I saw them out and I grabbed a bag. This is actually a very great choice in place of chips and it’s healthier. So sometimes what may not always look good on the outside may be delicious once you try it.

Apples.

I know apples do have some sugar however fruit has a different kind of sugar and apples are actually pretty good when dieting, lately that’s been my night time snack before bed. Apples slices are the best before going to sleep along with a glass of water and not to mention some grapes.

Final thoughts.

If your looking for a good snack and you don’t wanna worry about the sugar intake or all the calories these are great snack ideas. I will also make a part two for you guys coming up so you can see other healthy foods that I eat when I’m home.

Weight loss is a journey but with the right mind set we can do it. Enjoy your Monday night and don’t forget to eat something healthy today and drink plenty of water.

My favorite s’mores dessert

Leave a comment Standard

Most people do s’mores at camp grounds when going camping, some do it at bon fires or even in the back of their home. This is one of my all time favorite summer foods to make especially on a late quiet night.

What you will need

1.Graham crackers-any flavor (I prefer honey)

2.Hershey’s chocolate bar( whatever you like)

3.Marshmallows

4.Fire Pit

5.Disposable bamboo sticks

6. Family/Friends who wanna have fun

At my home

At my house we have a fire pit in the back yard so, my dad will light it and then we get started on the family fun but wait before we get into all that let me reverse and tell you how it’s done.

What’s next

You take your graham cracker squares and break them in half, then place a piece of Hershey’s chocolate on to the graham cracker and place a marshmallow, then you proceed to stick the bamboo stick between the cracker. Make sure your fire is all lit and ready to go Also, be safe as you extend your s’mores into the fire give it a few minutes and wallah you have a perfectly melted s’mores ready to eat, this is a summer favorite in my house and not to mention it’s great to do with your kids.

Cheat day

If your dieting as I am it’s ok to have one cheat day to eat a s’mores and if your really worried you can get sugar free candy bars or candy with less sugar and calories. It’s ok to be bad for one day, I promise!

Final words

I hope you guys enjoy this favorite desert of mines and try it with family and friends.

My favorite recipe/Food..

Leave a comment Standard

Ok guys so today being that it’s Saturday, I wanted to tell you guys one of my favorite foods and recipes that you can make even while dieting, so as I explain in a previous post I’ve been trying out the keto diet and so far so good also all I’ve been eating is organic everything pretty much so this delicious meal is a favorite that I love and even my daughter loves.

Shrimp Alfredo..

This is one of my favorite dishes ever to make so yesterday being at home after work I got started on this amazingly good dish, so most people should know how to make it but of course everyone makes theirs different.

What you need:

Shrimp

Pasta noodles (vegetable) it’s made with zucchini and spinach and healthier for you.

Alfredo sauce

Olive oil or coconut oil (it’s healthier)

Parsley

Salt

Pepper

Tomatoes (optional)

Mushrooms (optional)

Green pepper (optional)

Onions (optional)

getting started:

The first thing that I do is grab a good frying pan and I take a drop of olive oil and drizzle it in the pan, I set the stove top on 3 and I take my shrimp and peel it and clean it off in water, before placing it in the pan, once the oil starts to sizzle a little I place my shrimp in and season it with old bay seasoning and lemon pepper seasoning. (You don’t have to season it, I choose too for taste reason)

The next step is to take my vegetable pasta and place it in some boiling water on the stove, I set the stove top to 4 and allow it to boil for couple of minutes while stirring my shrimp in the frying pan. once my pasta is done then, I proceed to drain the water and place the pasta in the pan with the shrimp. I toss it around to coat the pan, I sprinkle the parsley over the shrimp and pasta and add salt and pepper, I then cover the pan back up to keep the moisture in.

I dice some tomatoes up in to tiny pieces placing some into the pan while grabbing some fresh mushrooms and placing them in the pan next. I stir everything around to coat the pan again then proceed to cover the pan back up again. I allow everything to simmer and cook before placing my onions and peppers in the pan then adding my Alfredo sauce and pouring it into my pan, I then stir it around the pan and cover it again for a couple more minutes once it’s been sitting for a while, I then turn the stove off and my shrimp Alfredo is all done and ready to eat.

Side dishes:

Toss salad

Garlic bread

Bread sticks

(You can add whatever you want)

Conclusion:

This is a great recipe and it’s easy to make at home for family and friends. I’ll share more recipes with you guys soon.

My Favorite Sunday meals

Leave a comment Standard

In my family it’s always a tradition to cook big meals on Sunday’s, we all gather together and eat and talk about our week or what’s been going on with each other, I use to go to my grandmas every Sunday after church as a little girl she would cook the best meals and always made sure everything was perfect. I miss that now but try my best to keep the tradition up so let me tell you/share some of my favorite meals to make/eat on Sunday.

1.baked chicken w/greens and Mac and cheese

This is one of my favorite meals of all time for one I love chicken it’s good for the body has lots of protein and yes I will eat it baked or fried but of course baked is healthier. I love collard greens as well they taste good and are healthy for the body not to mention my dad makes the best Mac and cheese it’s so good and cheesy, I wish my Mac and cheese tasted that good but I wanna one lie it needs some work but I do try so that should count for something? Right? Lol don’t leave me hanging.

2. Baked spaghetti w/ground turkey

I love love love spaghetti it’s so good so I basically take a recipe that I got from my grandma she use to alway make a big pot of spaghetti when I was growing up and it was delicious to say the least and I love adding meatballs as well I also add sugar for that little extra flavor with some Italian seasoning, onions, peppers, mushrooms and that beautiful tomato sauce it’s so good. My dad makes the best baked spaghetti he will make a big tray of it that last for days and of course garlic bread can’t go wrong with that either. I’m trying to get better with baked spaghetti I always feel like I put too many noodles 🤦‍♀️ so I’m learning lol but I do better with pot spaghetti.

3. Turkey wings

I love love turkey wings they are so good especially with a little bit of gravy on them as well, my favorite is the wing part and the skin sooo good with some green beans and mash potatoes and rolls to go with it, i absolutely love anything turkey anyway to be honest because it’s light and healthier for your body anyway it’s rare that I cook that during the week but it’s definitely one of my Sunday favorites al though it’s always hard to find in the grocery store sometimes so whenever I see it gotta grab it and stock up so yes that is great plus it’s a family favorite. You can either bake them or even fry them either way it’s good and once they are done you will love it!

4. Beef roast( my favorite before I stopped eating beef/pork.

My mom use to make this all the time still does and it use to be one of my favorites until I stopped eating beef/pork so she would bake it in the oven and put gravy with potatoes and carrots around it and it was always so yummy with rice or cabbage it was my favorite but of course my health comes first now so al though I miss it, it’s not that end of the world but yes it’s yummy and it’s always moist if you remember to always cover it first so always cover your beef to make it tender otherwise it will be tough that has happened to me before and it sucked so bad but hey you live and you learn I was a beginner cook back then now I’m a little more advanced well some what lol I try my best to cook good food always I really do.

5.Turkey meatloaf

So I actually made this today and it was good al though my dad didn’t like it but my mom and daughter did, of course turkey ground been isn’t going to taste as good as regular beef to some it’s healthier and I’m use to it at this point. You can’t miss what you really did eat a lot! I also made cabbage and potatoes with butter and parsley that I baked last night so I think my Sunday dinner was good and healthy, I usually don’t cook on Sunday because my mom does it but for some reason she wanted me to cook so I agreed even though I didn’t want too but glad I did now because it feels good knowing I made something different for my family since they are so used to eating a certain way so yayhhh proud of me 😊

Conclusion

Family time is so important and growing up Sunday was always my family time to relax and be around family and friends and these are just a few of the meals that I love of course there is more so as alway their will probably be a part two for this so look out for it and enjoy you Sunday’s while I continue too wait for my YouTube video to upload, I really need faster internet like ASAP. Until next time sweeties I’m off to relax and watch some tv.
