My favorite sugar free food dishes!

Leave a comment Standard

These dishes became a house hold favorite, when my grandpa got diagnosed with diabetes, we had to learn to change our eating habits and eat better for his health.

Brownies.

This brownie mix is amazing instead of sugar it’s substituted with Splenda and it Taste great you, can get this at any local grocery store and it’s not too pricey either.

Jell-O.

This is also a favorite of mine, it’s less the calories and sugar plus it Taste great so, you get to eat a snack without freaking out over all the sugar intake.

Popcorn.

Popcorn is another favorite snack, Because it has no sugar and you can pretty much eat as much as you want. I also buy the 94% fat free popcorn with only 100 calories. It doesn’t have as much butter and it’s healthier for you. They come in mini bags or big bags I would say go for the Mini bags if you just looking for a simple snack.

Almonds.

My mom will only by this brand of almonds nothing else because it’s less sugar and healthier for you. I never use to like almonds but my mom got me hooked on them now and my nutritionist also had it on my meal plan so it became a household snack.

Gatorade.

This is my all time favorite sugar free drinks most people think it’s nasty it’s not at all, in fact it’s healthier for your body then all that sugar in regular Gatorade. I even have my dad hooked on it, every time I go to the store he asks me to buy more. This is a great substitute for anyone who is diabetic as well.

sugar free ice cream.

No matter what you can always choose health even when it comes to your ice cream. My grandpa used to eat this kind all the time and it Taste great. You can still eat sweets now and then just choose healthy options and this is a great one.

Veggie straws.

Honestly, when I first saw this in the store, I was like no way am I eating that nope not me. My aunt use to buy this for my grandpa so, one day I was shopping and I saw them out and I grabbed a bag. This is actually a very great choice in place of chips and it’s healthier. So sometimes what may not always look good on the outside may be delicious once you try it.

Apples.

I know apples do have some sugar however fruit has a different kind of sugar and apples are actually pretty good when dieting, lately that’s been my night time snack before bed. Apples slices are the best before going to sleep along with a glass of water and not to mention some grapes.

Final thoughts.

If your looking for a good snack and you don’t wanna worry about the sugar intake or all the calories these are great snack ideas. I will also make a part two for you guys coming up so you can see other healthy foods that I eat when I’m home.

Weight loss is a journey but with the right mind set we can do it. Enjoy your Monday night and don’t forget to eat something healthy today and drink plenty of water.

My favorite s’mores dessert

Leave a comment Standard

Most people do s’mores at camp grounds when going camping, some do it at bon fires or even in the back of their home. This is one of my all time favorite summer foods to make especially on a late quiet night.

What you will need

1.Graham crackers-any flavor (I prefer honey)

2.Hershey’s chocolate bar( whatever you like)

3.Marshmallows

4.Fire Pit

5.Disposable bamboo sticks

6. Family/Friends who wanna have fun

At my home

At my house we have a fire pit in the back yard so, my dad will light it and then we get started on the family fun but wait before we get into all that let me reverse and tell you how it’s done.

What’s next

You take your graham cracker squares and break them in half, then place a piece of Hershey’s chocolate on to the graham cracker and place a marshmallow, then you proceed to stick the bamboo stick between the cracker. Make sure your fire is all lit and ready to go Also, be safe as you extend your s’mores into the fire give it a few minutes and wallah you have a perfectly melted s’mores ready to eat, this is a summer favorite in my house and not to mention it’s great to do with your kids.

Cheat day

If your dieting as I am it’s ok to have one cheat day to eat a s’mores and if your really worried you can get sugar free candy bars or candy with less sugar and calories. It’s ok to be bad for one day, I promise!

Final words

I hope you guys enjoy this favorite desert of mines and try it with family and friends.

My favorite recipe/Food..

Leave a comment Standard

Ok guys so today being that it’s Saturday, I wanted to tell you guys one of my favorite foods and recipes that you can make even while dieting, so as I explain in a previous post I’ve been trying out the keto diet and so far so good also all I’ve been eating is organic everything pretty much so this delicious meal is a favorite that I love and even my daughter loves.

Shrimp Alfredo..

This is one of my favorite dishes ever to make so yesterday being at home after work I got started on this amazingly good dish, so most people should know how to make it but of course everyone makes theirs different.

What you need:

Shrimp

Pasta noodles (vegetable) it’s made with zucchini and spinach and healthier for you.

Alfredo sauce

Olive oil or coconut oil (it’s healthier)

Parsley

Salt

Pepper

Tomatoes (optional)

Mushrooms (optional)

Green pepper (optional)

Onions (optional)

getting started:

The first thing that I do is grab a good frying pan and I take a drop of olive oil and drizzle it in the pan, I set the stove top on 3 and I take my shrimp and peel it and clean it off in water, before placing it in the pan, once the oil starts to sizzle a little I place my shrimp in and season it with old bay seasoning and lemon pepper seasoning. (You don’t have to season it, I choose too for taste reason)

The next step is to take my vegetable pasta and place it in some boiling water on the stove, I set the stove top to 4 and allow it to boil for couple of minutes while stirring my shrimp in the frying pan. once my pasta is done then, I proceed to drain the water and place the pasta in the pan with the shrimp. I toss it around to coat the pan, I sprinkle the parsley over the shrimp and pasta and add salt and pepper, I then cover the pan back up to keep the moisture in.

I dice some tomatoes up in to tiny pieces placing some into the pan while grabbing some fresh mushrooms and placing them in the pan next. I stir everything around to coat the pan again then proceed to cover the pan back up again. I allow everything to simmer and cook before placing my onions and peppers in the pan then adding my Alfredo sauce and pouring it into my pan, I then stir it around the pan and cover it again for a couple more minutes once it’s been sitting for a while, I then turn the stove off and my shrimp Alfredo is all done and ready to eat.

Side dishes:

Toss salad

Garlic bread

Bread sticks

(You can add whatever you want)

Conclusion:

This is a great recipe and it’s easy to make at home for family and friends. I’ll share more recipes with you guys soon.

Favorite Christmas Foods.

Leave a comment Standard

Hello, lovelies, I’m back! Better late then never. It’s Christmas Eve and I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. I’m in the process of watching movies on Netflix and watching my daughter play with her toys. I promised this blog post so gotta deliver. I’m going to share with you guys some of my favorite Christmas foods.

Main course-

1.Ham- so my mom does ham every year for Christmas and as I’ve said in previous post I stopped eating beef and pork for a while but I’ve kinda went back to eating it due to health reasons and because my nutritionist changed my meal plan so yes but anyway ham is good I love it especially when my mom makes it.

2.green bean casserole- this is my favorite ever my mom only makes this once a year so gotta enjoy it while I can, it’s one of my favorite Christmas dishes and my dad also loves this he was the one that got us hooked on it because someone at his job made it.

3.macaroni and cheese-

I love love Mac and cheese it’s an all time favorite. We usually make a big tray around Christmas and it’s so good lots of cheese and pasta and not to mention it’s one of those foods you have to go back for seconds on. I’m getting better at making it.

4. Potato salad-

Potatoe salad is another family tradition we usually make this for thanksgiving too and my mom makes the best, I have tried to make it myself but it doesn’t compare to hers at all and I’m really picky with eating foods so I will only eat her cooking around the holidays.

Deserts-

Apple pie-

I love homemade apple pie, I got this recipe out of a cookbook and I’ve been obsessed with it every since, I usually make this every year except this year I’m taking a baking break and I got a store brought cake.

Peanuts butter kiss cookies-

This is another favorite, I made it last night actually with my daughter it was so good. I usually get Betty Crocker bag of cookies you can bake and mix and then I add Hershey kiss candies in the middle of the cookies once it comes out the oven it’s become a family favorite.

Chocolate cake-

This is my favored brand of cake omg, I love a good chocolate cake. It taste yummy and I love chocolate so it works for me. I can’t remember the last time I baked a cake though it’s been a while, I take that back I did on thanksgiving but that was a disaster needless to say lol.

And last but not least…

White House rolls-

I love love this rolls and I love bread so it works perfectly for me, my mom gets these every year they Taste so good in the oven with a dab of butter on them, it’s perfection!

Ok guys so these are a few of my favorites, I hope you guys enjoy your holiday with family and friends, merry Christmas!

My favorite thanksgiving meals.

Leave a comment Standard

Ok guys I’m back again, I apologize for going missing again, I’ve been so busy with work and amongst other things and I’ve been neglecting my blog, I promise to do better guys. The holidays are coming up so why not talk about thanksgiving and what my favorite holiday dishes are, so let’s get in the spirit and let’s get into it.

The main course-

Turkey- I love turkey well sometimes it’s a light food and it’s healthy and has great protein and for those out there who don’t like turkey you can always substitute it with another meat that Taste better not everyone has turkey on thanksgiving I’m sure.

Greens- so it’s kind of a tradition my mom always makes greens every year except on Christmas she will make strong bean casserole witch I do love a lot. This is also very healthy and taste good so it’s good especially when dieting.

Mac/cheese- yes I love my Mac and cheese it’s so good my dad makes the best but my mom tries lol it’s still good though but it’s one of my favorites to eat I can eat Mac and cheese all day long literally lol but you gotta eat that in moderation.

Stuffing- stuffing is so good with gravy it’s the best my mom always makes too much of it though luckily all the guest eat it all so it works out in the end again eat this in moderation.

Rolls- yes bread has lots of carbs but I can’t resist on thanksgiving I love my rolls I eat at least two I won’t even lie it’s so good fresh out the oven with butter yummy I get hungry talking about it lol.

Can’t forget..

Potato salad- another family tradition like I wonder if we will switch it up one day and do just plain mash potatoes I wouldn’t mind something new and different but again everyone loves it so we stick too it for now and yes it’s good.

Dessert-

Apple pie- so normally every year I do an apple pie this year I’m making a chocolate cake by scratch to try something new and I got the recipes off my apps so it’s healthier then the normal cake you would bake you substitute the oil with yogurt so yes I will tell you how that turns out

Sweet potato pie- this is another family tradition my mom bakes two of these pies every year and of course we usually don’t have any left over because it’s a guest favorite. I normally don’t eat it because at that time I wasn’t even eating sweet potatoes but this year I may try it, you never know.

Coconut cake- my aunt usually makes coconut cake every year it’s her favorite cake to bake and it’s actually perky good even though I’m not really a fan of coconuts or the flavor I still try it out every year and it’s not half bad.

Also..

Cookies- so sometimes when I don’t do cakes or pies I bake cookies usually I do peanut butter cookies and I take Hershey cookies and place them in the middle it’s so good and a family favorite so maybe I’ll make it for Christmas you never know.

So thanks for allowing me back into your homes, it’s been fun blogging today but gotta get myself ready for work tomorrow, I will definitely be blogging more soon and I know I say this all the time but I’m coming back guys I really am, if I haven’t posted by thanksgiving I hope you all enjoy your holiday and time off if you get time off. Sweet dreams 😴

My favorite Halloween movies 🎥

Leave a comment Standard

Ok, so Halloween is right around the corner so why not share some of my favorite movies to watch every year around this time. What is everyone going to be for Halloween? Your never too old to dress up(my opinion) I still have to get my daughter a costume, so will see how it goes also I’m not thrilled that it’s on a Wednesday either, can it fall on a Friday next year? Just saying 🤷‍♀️enough of my little rant let’s gets started.

1. Michel Myers- Halloween

This has to be number one, like come on this movie has been around since, I was a kid and it’s gotten even popular since then, for one I’m petrified of this man like I would hate to be in his hometown on Halloween, you definitely gotta watch your back the whole time. I use to love Jaime Lee Curtis in all those movies she played his sister so well, I was sad when he killed her though. I have to get around to watching it this month maybe this weekend it will happen for me. (There’s a new Halloween in theaters now so go see it)

2. Child’s play-chucky

Not even going to lie typing this makes me cringe, I’ve always been scared of chucky that doll was so powerful and scary at the same time, poor Andy went through a lot dealing with him. I couldn’t do it, my nerves would of been so bad. I can’t get my daughter a doll like that, she’s already in love with Elmo so we will leave it there no need to recruit chucky right now. I’ve watched all his movies but the last one I saw on Netflix wasn’t that good, they tried but it missed the bar at least for me. If you wanna check it out look on Netflix.

3. Scream-

This movie is another favorite, I even see kids wearing costumes like it on Halloween, I loved nev Campbell in these movies she was so pretty and innocent. I also loved how it was about them being in high school and being young and learning. I would of be scared to death though knowing a killer would have been at my high school, it would of been a lot of sick days for me but anyway this a great movie, I’m sure most people have seen it but if not go watch!

4.hocus pocus-

Yes yes, I remember watching this movie as a kid it was so good and I was literally glued to the tv, this movie is also child friendly, I can’t wait till my daughter ask me to watch this movie it’s a classic for sure, also I’m scared of witches now lol but this is a great movie so watch with your kids and you it can turn in to a family fun night for everybody.

5.Casper-

Who can forget Casper the friendly ghost omg adorable another movie, I watched growing up it was my favorite. Then you get to see kids running around in sheets pretending to be ghost 👻 who can not find that adorable, again this is another movie, I can’t wait to watch with my daughter she’s going to laugh I’m sure and ask a bunch of questions but it’s still going to be cute. So watch this movie with your family it will be great.

I have to do a part two as always before the month is over. So many other great movies! Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Saturday even though it’s a little chilly, fall is officially here time for mittens and hats and lots of hot chocolate.

My favorite drinks..

Leave a comment Standard

So, I’m always talking about things that I eat or don’t eat all the time but I’ve never talked about what I drink ever so why not do it now, i don’t drink soda or juice so that won’t be on the menu but of course everything else will. So as always let’s get started.

Water-

Is the main thing I drink everyday pretty much, I’m still struggling on drinking 6 bottles a day guys it’s so hard I’m lucky to make 3 or 4 a day but I’m trying, gotta keep pushing also I like green tea a lot so I put packets of it in my water. Water enhancer is also really good it’s not juice but it gives your water a little more flavor for people who don’t like water this will help you a lot so try it. Water keeps your body hydrated so try to drink a bottle or two a day to start out and work your way up.

Example: 👆

Green tea..

I absolutely love tea it’s my kryptonite literally, I drink it everyday day or every other day I know my dad tells me I’m addicted lol no but really I am honestly I love tea, somehow my daughter loves tea too and I’m trying to break her from it because she wants it every time she sees me with it. Green tea is good for weight loss and it helps burn fat( My nutritionist told me this) when I first came to her. So I suggest trying some green tea you can drink it hot or cold I prefer cold, I get the 12 pack of Lipton diet tea from Walmart. It’s only 4.99 but I also have the tea bags at home as well.

Coffee..

I love coffee, I also love the smell when I’m making it in the kitchen. I usually do decaf but mostly I use my keurig that my dad got me for Christmas it’s red my favorite color too, I put all my favorite ones in and make great coffee also I love Starbucks but the only time I actually get drinks from there is when my job gets it or if someone buys it for me, I literally never have time to drink coffee or go to Starbucks like I want too and it’s crazy because it’s one right down the street from my house yikes!!! I know I could actually go but I don’t. Coffee is also good for you as well but try to drink the decaf because all that caffeine is not good for the body.

Milk..

I love milk didn’t always use too but now my favorite milk is skim milk and lately I’ve also gotten into drinking almond milk with coconut it’s so good guys and way healthier for you trust me your body will thank you, I usually get my milk from Walmart they have the brand that, I like. Try drinking this for breakfast or even going to bed it will help you sleep better at night warm a glass up and drink it and you will sleep like a baby.

Orange juice..

I don’t drink orange juice all the time because I don’t drink juice but there is one that my grandpa use to buy all the time that is really good for you and has less calories in it and less sugar. So when I do drink a glass of orange juice it’s rare but every now and then I drink it with my breakfast. It’s a good source of vitamin D and great for calcium intake and taste ok for the most part.

Conclusion..

This are the drinks that I have started drinking since cutting out soda and juice so yep nothing too special but I will say once you cut out juice and soda the less sugar you take in your body will thank you and you will start to lose some weight along with a good meal plan.
